This month we are learning about the vowels o, e, and u. We are learning the sound that short vowels make. We spent September learning about a and i.

Please be on the lookout for some easy readers that will be going home with your child to help them work on the skills we are learning at home.

 

We are beginning to work on adding and patterns in math.

 

Our science this month is pumpkins, bats, and spiders.

 

In social studeis we will be learning about Columbus and then beginning a study of the first Thanksgiving, focusing on the Pilgrims and the Native Americans.

 

Reminder about homework: Homework is not a requirement in first grade it is simply extra practice. Please spend some time working with your child on these activities and return them the next day.
